Zinc difluoromethanesulfinate is used as a precursor in the production of pharmaceuticals and other organic chemicals. It is an inorganic compound that has a structural formula of Zn(CH)SOF. When heated, this compound decomposes to produce zinc oxide, SO2, and HF. The vibrational properties of zinc difluoromethanesulfinate have been measured using infrared techniques.
