Product Information
- 4,5-Dichloro-1,2-Thiazole-3-Carboxylic Acid
4,5-Dichloroisothiazole-3-carboxylic acid (DCCA) is a cisplatin analog that has been shown to have antiproliferative activity. DCCA binds to the amine group of proteins and forms adducts with a variety of different cells. It has been shown to be cytotoxic to various types of cells in vitro. In vivo, DCCA is metabolized by cytochromes P450 into 4-chloro-5,6-dihydroxyisothiazole, which produces reactive oxygen species that cause apoptotic cell death. DCCA has been shown to have dose-dependent effects on tumor growth in mice when it was administered intraperitoneally and intravenously at concentrations of 25 mg/kg/day and 50 mg/kg/day, respectively.
