Tectorigenin 7-O-xylosylglucoside is a saponin that has been isolated from the roots of the plant Pueraria lobata. Tectorigenin 7-O-xylosylglucoside has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antitumor activities. It also has effects on vaginal atrophy and can be used as a substitute for estrogen therapy in women. Tectorigenin 7-O-xylosylglucoside has been shown to inhibit the growth of HL60 cells by inducing epidermal growth factor synthesis, which may be due to its ability to scavenge free radicals. This compound is also believed to have radical scavenging activity.
