Description:

2,8-Dimethylnonane-4,6-dione is a viscous liquid. It is a tervalent molecule with three methyl groups and two double bonds. This compound has four isomers that differ in the position of these methyl groups. The alpha isomer has the methyl group on the left side, while the beta isomer has it on the right side. The gamma isomer also has two alkyl substituents, one on each side of the double bond. The delta isomer has an alkyl substituent on one side of the double bond and an alkene substituent on the other side. 2,8-Dimethylnonane-4,6-dione can be nebulized or ultrasonically nebulized to form a mist of droplets with diameters less than 10 microns in size. This compound also exhibits ferroelectric properties and can be used as a material for electronic devices such as capacitors
