Product Information
N-Methyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxamide is a synthetic molecule that inhibits the glycosylase activity of pbr322 DNA. This inhibition has been shown to be reversible, and can be reversed by a 1:1 mixture of N-methyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxamide and glycosylase. The inhibitory activity of N-methyl-1H-pyrrole-2 carboxamide is due to its ability to bind to the subunits of the enzyme, thereby preventing it from binding to the DNA substrate. It has been shown that this compound can also inhibit protein synthesis in vitro, although this effect is not seen in vivo.
