3-Indoxyl caprylate is an enzyme substrate used in a variety of diagnostic applications, including the detection of various bacterial and viral infections. It is used as a substrate for beta-galactosidase, which can be detected by bioluminescence or chromogenic substrates. 3-Indoxyl caprylate also serves as a ligand for receptor binding and has been shown to bind to CD4 receptors on human T cells. 3-Indoxyl caprylate is also used as an enzyme substrate in the detection of DNA polymerases, RNA polymerases, and ATPases. This product is available with a high purity that ranges from 98% to 99%. 3-Indoxyl caprylate is soluble in water, alcohols, acetone, acetic acid, and chloroform.
