Description

N-[5-Amino-6-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,4-triazin-3-yl]-2,3-dichlorobenzamide is a pharmaceutical dosage form that is titrated to achieve the desired therapeutic effect. It is used to treat epilepsy and bipolar disorder. Lamotrigine binds to sodium channels in nerve cells and blocks their opening. This prevents the influx of sodium ions that are necessary for neuronal transmission.
