Description:

Phosphodiesterase II from bovine spleen is a phosphodiesterase enzyme that belongs to the group of enzymes called phosphodiesterases. It is used as an analytical tool for investigating the mechanism of carcinogenesis and the effects of chemical compounds on cells. Phosphodiesterase II can be used to measure enzyme activity, and has been shown to inhibit cancer progression in vitro and in vivo. This enzyme has also been shown to bind covalently with DNA, forming damaged or covalent adducts. Rat primary hepatocytes have been used to study the inhibition of oxidative damage and cellular responses induced by this enzyme in vitro.
