3'-Methylphenoxyacetamide is a chemotherapeutic agent that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It is a glutathione S-transferase inhibitor and glutathione detoxifier. 3'-Methylphenoxyacetamide has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, as well as to protect against oxidative stress in rats. This compound induces apoptosis by inhibiting the synthesis of proteins necessary for cell division or by preventing DNA replication.
