4-Allylhepta-1,6-dien-4-ol is an organic compound that can be synthesized from the reaction of nitrate and acetylene. It has a valency of six and is a crosslinking agent for polyunsaturated olefins. 4-Allylhepta-1,6-dien-4-ol has been used as a crosslinking agent in the production of polyolefin plastics. It also acts as a sulfide scavenger in the production of episulfides, which are compounds that have been used to synthesize dyes. This chemical has also been used as a dehydrogenation catalyst, which removes hydrogen from organic molecules during oxidation reactions.
