Description:

Strontium chloride is a strontium salt of hydrochloric acid. It is used in analytical chemistry as an indicator for pH and as a standard in determining the concentration of calcium. Strontium chloride has been shown to be more effective than calcium chloride in increasing cytosolic calcium levels. It also has a thermodynamic data that can be used to predict the ionization of strontium in water vapor, which can be used for wastewater treatment. A plasma mass spectrometry technique was developed to detect strontium chloride with the use of a reaction solution that contained water vapor and chlorine gas.
