Description:N-Methyl-N-phenylpiperidine-4-carboxamide hydrochloride is a piperidine reagent that is used in peptide synthesis. It has been shown to react with tripeptides and tetrahydropyrans to form six-membered heterocyclic and heterospirocyclic compounds. NMPCC reacts with the amino acid side chain hydroxyl group to form the corresponding amine, which can be isolated by acidification. NMPCC has also been shown to be an effective reagent for the synthesis of peptides from carboxylic acids and amines.
