Product Information
IKK-16 is a small protein that belongs to the IκB kinase family. It is activated by dextran sulfate and stimulates the phosphorylation of IκB, which leads to the nuclear translocation of NF-κB. This activation has been shown to be necessary for the induction of autoimmune diseases. The enzyme also regulates transcriptional regulation and apoptosis in prostate cancer cells. It is able to activate toll-like receptor signalling pathways, which are important for innate immunity. IKK-16 hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit epidermal growth factor (EGF) and cell proliferation in culture, suggesting that it may be a potential treatment for skin cancer.
