Product Information

Name:
Iriflophenone 3-C-b-D-glucopyranoside
Description:

Iriflophenone 3-C-b-D-glucopyranoside (IR3) is a natural compound that has been shown to have proapoptotic effects in vitro. IR3 can stimulate the release of annexin V, an important marker for apoptosis, and promote cell death by binding to phosphatidylserine on the outer surface of cells. This compound also interacts with dietary polyphenols and other natural compounds and has been shown to inhibit inflammation in a colorectal distension model. IR3 is fluorescent and can be used in microscopy experiments as a means of identifying and staining cells. It has been shown to have interactions with other compounds such as metformin, which may be beneficial for patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
