Description:3'-O-Azidomethyl 2'-deoxyguanosine 5'-O-triphosphate sodium salt is an antiviral and anticancer agent used in the treatment of HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, herpes simplex virus type 1, herpes simplex virus type 2, varicella zoster virus, cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, and Kaposi's sarcoma. It is a nucleotide analog that inhibits viral replication by inhibiting DNA synthesis. The phosphate group on this compound is modified with an azide group to inhibit deamination by phosphodiesterases. This product has been shown to be effective against leukemia cells.
