Description:N6-Benzoyl-9-(2'-deoxy-5'-O-DMT-2'-fluoro-b-D-arabinofuranosyl)adenine is a synthetic nucleoside that has antiviral activity. It is activated by the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase and inhibits viral DNA synthesis. This agent also inhibits the production of deoxyribonucleosides, which are needed for DNA synthesis. In addition, this compound inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting the enzyme DNA gyrase. N6-Benzoyl-9-(2'-deoxy-5'-O-DMT-2'-fluoro-b-D-arabinofuranosyl)adenine has novel properties in that it does not contain any ribose or phosphate groups. This product is available as a white powder with a purity of at least 98%.
