Description:2'-Deoxy-2'-fluoro-arabinoisocytidine is a nucleoside that is used in the synthesis of DNA and RNA. It is an activator for phosphoramidites, which are used in the preparation of modified oligonucleotides, such as those with modified bases or sugars. 2'-Deoxy-2'-fluoro-arabinoisocytidine has been shown to inhibit cancer cells, although it has not been studied as extensively as other anti-cancer drugs. This drug also inhibits the replication of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) by inhibiting reverse transcriptase activity. 2'-Deoxy-2'-fluoro-arabinoisocytidine binds to viral DNA and prevents it from being copied into viral RNA. This nucleoside also has antiviral activity against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1).
