Description:
Ethyl 2-chloro-4-methylpyrimidine-5-carboxylate is an antiviral drug that inhibits the replication of RNA viruses. It binds to the active site of the enzyme responsible for viral RNA synthesis. Ethyl 2-chloro-4-methylpyrimidine-5-carboxylate has been shown to inhibit the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in cell cultures. This drug also has cytostatic activity and can be used to treat tumors in cell culture.
