The chemical modification of this compound has been shown to have potential therapeutic use in the treatment of cancer. 2,3-Di-O-benzyl-6-O-tert-butyldimethylsilyl-[gamma]-cyclodextrin has been shown to inhibit the growth of human leukemia cells and has antiangiogenic properties.
