2,6-di-O-methyl-3-O-n-pentyl-gamma-cyclodextrin is a methylated derivative of cyclodextrin. It is used as a saccharide in the synthesis of oligosaccharides and polysaccharides. 2,6-di-O-methyl-3-O-n-pentyl cyclodextrin is also used to modify glycoproteins and other glycoconjugates with a high degree of purity. This modification has been shown to be useful in the study of carbohydrate structures, as well as for protein engineering applications. 2,6-di-O methyl 3 O n pentyl gamma cyclodextrin can be fluorinated for use in complex carbohydrates with the potential for custom synthesis.
