Product Information
Magnesium perchlorate is an inorganic salt that is used as a chemical reagent. It is also used to produce magnesium perchlorate AR, which is a crystalline form of the compound with high resistance to organic solvents and temperature fluctuations. The molecule of magnesium perchlorate contains one atom each of magnesium, chlorine and oxygen. The molecular weight is 170.99 g/mol. Magnesium perchlorate has been shown to enhance the thermochemical properties of polyethylene glycols, which are commonly used in pharmaceuticals. Polyethylene glycols have a low tendency to hydrolyze in water and are solids at room temperature, which makes them difficult to dissolve in aqueous solutions. Magnesium perchlorate can be used to enhance their solubility by adding it as a co-solvent during the production process. This compound has also been shown to enhance the polymerization process when mixed with polymers such as polypropylene oxide (PP
