1,2,4-Benzotriazine-3-carboxylic acid is a reagent that is used in organic chemistry to produce diazonium salts. It reacts with borohydride to form tetrachloropalladate, which can be reacted with thiazoles to form the corresponding benzothiazoles. 1,2,4-Benzotriazine-3-carboxylic acid also reacts with sodium borohydride in the presence of carbonyl compounds to form the corresponding triazoles. The compound can also be alkylated using alkyl halides or tricyclic compounds.
