N-Benzylpyridin-3-amine is an organic compound that is made by the amination of benzotrifluoride with 3-aminopyridine. This chemical can be prepared in a two step process. First, benzotrifluoride is reacted with ammonia and then 3-aminopyridine to form N-benzylpyridin-3-amine. The reaction requires a microwave irradiation and is scalable for large production. This chemical has been shown to undergo palladium catalysis for the synthesis of other compounds.
