5-Pyrimidinecarboxylic acid, hydrazide is a biochemical that belongs to the group of anti-inflammatory agents. It is mainly used as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent. 5-Pyrimidinecarboxylic acid, hydrazide inhibits lipoxygenase activity in rat platelets. It also has an analgesic effect on rats, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. The drug has been shown to have a maximal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 2 μg/mL for COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes in a biochemical assay. 5-Pyrimidinecarboxylic acid, hydrazide is not active against erythrocytes or leukocytes and does not produce any detectable toxic effects in animals at high doses.
