Description:
C-[4-(4-Methoxy-phenyl)-tetrahydro-pyran-4-yl]-methylamine is a chlorinating agent that reacts with primary and secondary amines to form N,N'-bis(chloroacetyl)urea. It is a reagent used in the synthesis of polyurethanes and other polymers. C-[4-(4-Methoxy-phenyl)-tetrahydro-pyran-4-yl]-methylamine has been shown to react with benzoic acid as well, forming 4-(2,6-dichlorophenoxy)benzoic acid.
