- 7-bromo-2-(3-fluoro-4-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3-benzoxazol-5-ol
7-Bromo-2-(3-fluoro-4-hydroxyphenyl)benzo[d]oxazol-5-ol (7BrFOH) is a benzoxazole derivative that acts as an estrogen receptor modulator. It has been shown to be an estrogenic agonist in the calf thymus DNA assay and to activate estrogen receptors in human breast cancer cells. 7BrFOH has been shown to reduce the growth of prostate cancer cells, which may be due to its ability to bind to and activate estrogen receptors. 7BrFOH also shows no cytotoxicity or genotoxicity in vitro, making it a promising therapeutic agent for prostate cancer treatment.
