Description

6-Chloro didesacetyl famciclovir is a synthetic nucleoside analog that is used as an antiviral drug. It is the active form of the prodrug famciclovir and inhibits viral replication by inhibiting DNA polymerase, which is essential for viral DNA synthesis. 6-Chloro didesacetyl famciclovir has been shown to be effective against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2). It has also been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi in vitro, including Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans.
