Kaempferol-3-sophoroside-7-glucoside is a flavonoid glycoside that has been found to be a competitive inhibitor of pancreatic lipase. It has been shown to protect against radiation and dehydration in the skeleton, as well as protecting against lipid oxidation by preventing the formation of reactive oxygen species. Kaempferol-3-sophoroside-7-glucoside also inhibits the activity of amp-activated protein kinase and may help to prevent obesity. This compound has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. Kaempferol-3-sophoroside-7-glucoside is also an interspecific hybrid between two different genera: Crocins and Sophora flavescens.
