Product Information
Cyclohexylphenylmethanamine is a racemic mixture of two enantiomers of cyclohexylphenylethylamine. It is a lipase inhibitor that can be used in the synthesis of ketones. Cyclohexylphenylmethanamine can be synthesized from phenylmagnesium bromide and cyclohexanol by catalytic reduction. The product yield is increased with the use of a dextral-rotating catalyst to promote the formation of the less-reactive enantiomer. Cyclohexylphenylmethanamine has been shown to catalyze the conversion of 3,4-dimethoxyphenylethylamine into 3,4-dihydroxyphenylethylamine.
