Applications 2,4:3,5-Di-O-benzylidene L-Iditol is an intermediate in the synthesis of L-idaro-1,4-lactone related compounds, an inhibitor of α-L-idosiduronase. L-Idaric acid is also used as a reagent to biosynthesize myoinositol in rat seminal vesicles.
