Applications Rhodium(III) chloride is often used in synthetic chemistry as a hydrogenation catalyst. Rhodium(III) chloride is also used to make transition metal complexes, some of which are used as reagents in the decarbonylation dehydration reactions of fatty acids to alkenes.
