The synthesis of dPEG®12-diol involves the coupling of two molecules of 12-deoxyphosphatidylcholine with 1,2-di(2′-ethylhexyl)-glycerol (DEHG). This process results in the formation of dPEG®12-diol. dPEG®12-diol is a potent inhibitor of ion channels and has been shown to affect cellular metabolism. It has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in vitro and in vivo.
