4-Amino-5-methoxy-2-methylbenzenesulfonic acid is a compound that has been used as an additive to analytical reagents in order to improve their sensitivity. This compound is used as the sodium salt, which is water soluble and has a high degree of reproducibility. 4-Amino-5-methoxy-2-methylbenzenesulfonic acid has also been used for the validation of analytical methods, including calibration and cytotoxicity testing.
