3-Chloroquinoxaline-2-carboxylic acid is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have antimicrobial properties against bacteria. It is a quinoxaline derivative, which is an important class of compounds for the development of new antibiotics. 3-Chloroquinoxaline-2-carboxylic acid has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth through different mechanisms including blocking DNA synthesis, binding to RNA polymerase, and inhibiting protein synthesis. It also has been shown to be effective against drug resistant bacteria such as methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
