Informação sobre produto
4-Iodo-2,6-dimethylpyridine is an anionic chemical substance that has been shown to have a cytotoxic effect on cancer cells. It is also known as 4-iodo-2,6-dimethylaniline or 4-iodo-2,6-DMP. This molecule is synthesized by the reaction of 2,4,6-trimethylpyridine with iodine and hydrochloric acid. 4-Iodo-2,6-dimethylpyridine has been shown to be a chemotherapeutic agent in vitro studies. The cytotoxicity of this compound was attributed to its ability to modulate cellular folic acid levels and cause crosslinking of DNA strands. This compound can be modified by dialkylation reactions with ethylene oxide and propylene oxide groups to form compounds that are more soluble in water and less toxic than 4-iodo-2,6-dimethylpyridine
