(R)-SIPHOS is a chiral organophosphorus compound that can be prepared through the reaction of benzene and phosphoramidites. This reaction is catalyzed by hydrogenation, which leads to the formation of the desired product. The optical purity of this compound is high, with a transition state of 50% ee and an insolubility in common solvents. The preparative scale reaction of (R)-SIPHOS can be carried out using ligand methanol as a solvent.
