    SIS3 is a Smad3 inhibitor that inhibits the transcriptional activity of Runx2. It has been shown to inhibit the expression of osteogenic genes in a transcription-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay. This drug also suppresses the growth of tumor cells, such as choroidal neovascularization induced by growth factor-β1 (GF-β1) and collagen production in lung fibroblasts and hepatocyte-like cells.
