Beschreibung:
Wischmopps, oder 3-(N-Morpholino)propanesulfonsäure, ist ein zwitterionischer Puffer, der häufig in der biologischen und biochemischen Forschung verwendet wird. Er hat einen pKa-Wert von etwa 7,15, was ihn besonders effektiv macht, um den physiologischen pH-Wert in verschiedenen Anwendungen aufrechtzuerhalten, insbesondere in der Zellkultur und in Proteinstudien. Wischmopps ist in Wasser löslich, und seine Pufferkapazität ist im pH-Bereich von etwa 6,5 bis 7,9 optimal. Die Struktur von Wischmopps umfasst einen Morpholiring, der zu seiner Stabilität und Wirksamkeit als Puffer beiträgt. Er wird oft anderen Pufferstoffen vorgezogen, da er eine geringe Absorption im UV-Bereich aufweist, was für spektrophotometrische Messungen vorteilhaft ist.
