Adipinsäure, mit der CAS-Nummer 124-04-9, ist eine Dicarbonsäure, die durch ihre weiße kristalline Feststoffform bei Raumtemperatur gekennzeichnet ist. Sie hat eine chemische Formel von C6H10O4 und eine molare Masse von etwa 146,14 g/mol. Adipinsäure ist in Wasser, Alkohol und Ether löslich, was es vielseitig für verschiedene Anwendungen macht.
