Propylenglykolmonostearat (PGMS), mit der CAS-Nummer 1323-39-3, ist ein nichtionischer Tensid und Emulgator, der häufig in Lebensmittel-, Kosmetik- und pharmazeutischen Formulierungen verwendet wird. Es wird aus der Veresterung von Propylenglykol und Stearinsäure gewonnen. PGMS zeichnet sich durch seine Fähigkeit aus, die Oberflächenspannung zu reduzieren, was das Mischen von Öl- und Wasserphasen erleichtert und es zu einem effektiven Emulgator macht.
