CAS:β-Tocopherol is a type of vitamin E that belongs to the family of tocopherols. It is an antioxidant and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in muscle cells. β-Tocopherol inhibits the proliferation of myoblasts (muscle cells) by interfering with the expression of muscle cell genes. The antioxidant properties of β-tocopherol are due to its ability to neutralize free radicals, which can cause damage to DNA, proteins, and lipids. β-Tocopherol is also an important component in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) oxidation, which may be implicated in cardiovascular disease risk.
