CAS:Kontrolliertes ProduktTenocyclidine hydrochloride (TCP) is a potent and selective inhibitor of the aminotransferase activity that has been reported to be useful in pain models. TCP binds to the receptor site on the enzyme, blocking its ability to catalyze the reaction. It also inhibits cation channels and has been shown to inhibit cell growth and locomotor activity. The genotoxic effects of TCP have been studied extensively in vitro and in vivo, with evidence that it induces chromosomal aberrations and micronuclei formation in cultured human lymphocytes. In addition, this drug is known to induce epileptic seizures, which may be due to its ability to inhibit glutamate-mediated excitatory neurotransmission.
