Tetradecylamin ist eine langkettige primäre Amin, die durch ihre gerade Kettenstruktur gekennzeichnet ist, die aus einer Tetradecylgruppe (14 Kohlenstoffatome) besteht, die an eine Aminogruppe (-NH2) gebunden ist. Es ist bei Raumtemperatur eine farblose bis blassgelbe Flüssigkeit und hat einen ausgeprägten Amin-Geruch. Tetradecylamin ist in organischen Lösungsmitteln wie Ethanol und Ether löslich, hat jedoch eine begrenzte Löslichkeit in Wasser aufgrund seiner hydrophoben Alkylkette.
