CAS:Thiocolchicine is a colchicine analogue that has been shown to be effective against cancer cells and other types of cells. It binds to the disulfide bond in the VEGF receptor-1, which prevents its activation. Thiocolchicine also inhibits tumor cell proliferation and induces apoptosis by inhibiting protein synthesis. Thiocolchicine has been shown to be cytotoxic in vivo in human serum, as well as liver cells and colchicine-sensitive cancer cells. This drug also has potent antitumor activity in vivo and in vitro.
