:3-[(3-Cholamidopropyl)dimethylammonio]-1-propansulfonat hydrat
Beschreibung:

CAS:CHAPS hydrate is a common buffer used in research. It is an amphiphilic surfactant that has been used as a detergent for plasma membrane proteins. CHAPS is also used in assays to dilute and solubilize membrane proteins. CHAPS hydrate can be easily removed by dialysis or gel filtration, making it suitable for molecular mass determination by fluorometry. However, its use is not recommended when the assay involves polyvalent metals or metal ions that are sensitive to nonspecific chelating agents. Furthermore, CHAPS hydrate is used as a polymer matrix in binding assays to remove metal ions from protein solutions. It has also been reported to be an anti-tumor agent against some cell lines through the inhibition of galactosidase function.
