Beschreibung:
Cetylalkohol, auch bekannt als Hexadecanol, ist ein langkettiger Fettalkohol mit der chemischen Formel C16H34O. Es ist bei Raumtemperatur ein weißer, wachsartiger Feststoff und unlöslich in Wasser, aber löslich in organischen Lösungsmitteln wie Ethanol und Chloroform. Cetylalkohol wird aus natürlichen Quellen wie Palmöl und Kokosnussöl gewonnen und wird häufig in kosmetischen und persönlichen Pflegeprodukten als Emolliens, Emulgator und Verdickungsmittel verwendet. Seine Fähigkeit, Emulsionen zu stabilisieren, macht es wertvoll in Formulierungen wie Cremes und Lotionen. Darüber hinaus hat Cetylalkohol Anwendungen in der Pharmaindustrie und als Schmiermittel in verschiedenen industriellen Prozessen.
