Beschreibung:
Floxuridin, mit der CAS-Nummer 50-91-9, ist ein synthetisches Antimetabolit und ein fluoriertes Pyrimidinanalogon der Uridin. Es wird hauptsächlich zur Behandlung bestimmter Krebsarten eingesetzt, insbesondere bei kolorektalem Krebs und Lebermetastasen. Die Verbindung wirkt, indem sie die DNA-Synthese hemmt und somit die Proliferation von Krebszellen stört. Floxuridin wird typischerweise durch intravenöse Injektion oder intra-arterielle Infusion verabreicht, was eine gezielte Abgabe an Tumorstellen ermöglicht.
