Colchicin ist ein potentes Alkaloid, das aus der Pflanze Colchicum autumnale, allgemein bekannt als Herbst-Krokus, gewonnen wird. Es zeichnet sich durch seine Fähigkeit aus, die Polymerisation von Mikrotubuli zu hemmen, was die Zellmitose stört und hauptsächlich zur Behandlung von Gicht und familiärem Mittelmeerfieber eingesetzt wird.
