Dicumarol ist eine chemische Verbindung, die zur Klasse der Antikoagulanzien gehört, speziell einem Cumarin-Derivat. Es ist gekennzeichnet durch seine Fähigkeit, die Vitamin-K-Epoxid-Reduktase zu hemmen, die für die Synthese bestimmter Gerinnungsfaktoren in der Leber entscheidend ist. Diese Hemmung führt zu einem Rückgang der aktiven Vitamin-K-Spiegel, wodurch die Blutgerinnung verringert wird.
