Dimethylformamid (DMF) ist eine organische Verbindung mit der chemischen Formel C3H7NO und einer CAS-Nummer von 68-12-2. Es handelt sich um eine farblose, hygroskopische Flüssigkeit mit einem schwachen aminartigen Geruch, die für ihre hohe Polarität und ihre Fähigkeit bekannt ist, eine breite Palette von polaren und unpolaren Verbindungen zu lösen.
